Should I buy a smartwatch or a fitness tracker?
Good question. We’re here to help you answer it.
Smartwatches and fitness trackers are two of the fastest growing areas of wrist-mounted technology. They keep you hands-free, mobile, and can be a great way to get info, check updates, and even keep yourself fit!
But which one is right for you? Here’s a quick guide to what you need to consider.
Are smartwatches better than normal watches?
They may look similar (on purpose!), but there can be a world of difference between a regular watch and a smartwatch. Regular watches normally just tell the time, date, and generally act as an accessory.
Smartwatches on the other hand are a window into your life. They let you check your phone updates without taking it out, act as a hands-free GPS device, and let you take and make calls to stay connected. You can even watch clips and videos right there on your wrist!
Are fitness trackers worth it?
For the right person, a fitness tracker (or activity tracker) can be the best personal trainer you ever had. Not only does it give you live info like heartrate and blood pressure, they can also drive motivation, and help you lose weight and reach your fitness goals.
Fitness trackers can tell you how many calories you are burning whilst you exercise. They tell you how many steps you have taken, or how far you have run. Some fitness trackers even tell you how well you are sleeping, to help you look after your wellness and mental health.
Okay, so which one should I buy?
It all depends on you. Ask yourself: What are you going to use it for? Are you always on your feet? Do you love the idea of being able to answer calls using your watch? Are you trying to keep healthy and really want to get fitter?
Smartwatches can do more than fitness trackers, so generally can cost a bit more money. But what fitness trackers do, they do extremely well. It’s your choice. But whichever you choose, you will enjoy all the advantages of wrist-mounted technology!
